Miele dishwasher error codes

Find the code showing on the display. Each one links to what it means, the most likely cause, and the checks to work through in order.

Miele shows the same fault differently across series and model years, so a code on your display may appear here under a different prefix. Every equivalent we have confirmed is listed in the second column.

Code Also shown as What it means Can you keep using it
F11 Water is still sitting in the cabinet at the end of the programme because it has not drained away. The part you need to reach depends on which generation of machine you have, and the two are not the same. Stop using the machine
F12 F13, F15, F173 Not enough water is reaching the appliance, so it stops rather than running a programme it cannot fill. The manufacturer publishes several numbers for this same condition and gives them the same remedy. Usable, but not working properly
F52 So much foam has built up inside that the appliance has interrupted the programme. Foam stops the spray arms throwing water properly and can work its way out past the door. Usable, but not working properly
F70 The waterproof protection system has detected water escaping inside the appliance and has shut it down. The drain pump will keep running on its own until the machine is disconnected from the electricity supply. Stop using the machine
F86 The flap covering the salt reservoir in the door has been left open. This is a prompt rather than a breakdown, but it needs dealing with before the next programme. Usable, but not working properly
