Before you start
- Switch the appliance off and pull out the mains plug before opening the pump area. The manufacturer specifies this step first, and the impeller is driven directly by a mains motor.

Put on cut-resistant gloves, shine a torch into the chamber and pick out every fragment you can see. Expect glass, plastic and bone. Use the torch rather than groping about by feel.
Expected result Nothing foreign remains anywhere in the chamber or against the blades.

Rotate the impeller through at least one full turn with a fingertip to prove nothing is still catching out of sight.
Expected result It travels the whole way round evenly, with no tight spot and no grinding. If it does not, go to step 7.

Refit the cover so it locks, replace the filters, restore power and run a rinse.
Expected result The machine empties itself and finishes the cycle with no fault shown. If it does not, go to step 7.

If the impeller was already free, or the fault returns once the chamber is demonstrably clear, arrange a service visit instead of running it again.
Expected result The engineer arrives knowing the obstruction has been ruled out and the pump itself is suspect.
